Check this shit out: The Reliquia of Saint Pancras. There aren’t very many images of this available on the internet (at least from what I’ve seen on Google). I can’t even remember where I found this photo it’s been so long. Credit to whoever took it because I sure as hell didn’t. You can try to look it up on Google Images but when I tried I got a bunch of images of Emma Watson for some reason (what the fuck does she have to do with this?)
Note: When I die, I want my skeleton to be encased in some sick-ass armor.

jere7my apparently did some research and found the providence of this photo, but I don’t seem to have that information on hand. Which is a shame, because the photographer should get credit.
In the meantime, while I chase that down, look at the *boss* armor on that *boss lord of the underworld skeleton*. I am so in favour of this nonsense, you have no idea.

I found a flickr photo of it which is still unsourced, but one of the italian comments says it’s not a reliquary of st. pancras, but a body of a saint from a catacomb in rome?? (“corpo santo delle catacombe romane”).  basically the gist of the comments is that it can’t be the roman saint pancras because it’s an adult sized skeleton.
then i found this. so the suit of armor wasn’t built til 1977? but i think he means 1777. there’s a good photo of his face here.
paul koudounaris is the source of both of the images i found and his website has a lot of other amazing skeleton reliquaries.
the OP photo is from the wikipedia article on “katakombenheilige”.
and then i found some history here that says the relic was transferred from the roman catacombs in the 1700s and then in the 1770s joseph anton seethaler built the armor around it.
this is a tricky trail to follow. i think if you wanted to see it in person you’d go to the St. Gallen Abbey museum in Wil, Switzerland.
